About

Online schooling

Each Monday, during online learning, you and your child will receive an email from me. This email will have the expectations for the week.

There will be three academic learning focuses on each day.

-Thursday-

Quote of the day: "Going through things you never thought you'd go through will only take you to places you never thought you'd get to!" - Morgan Harper Nichols

Happy Thursday, fifth grade! Please know that Ms. Murphy, Mrs. McCasky, Ms. Wietharn and Ms. Parrott are thinking of and miss you! We hope you are enjoying time and learning with your families!

Today you have various academic expectations from us ...

1) Read. Maybe that looks like reading the label on your cereal box in the morning, turning on the subtitles when you watch a favorite TV show or finding a comfy spot to continue reading your most recent favorite book. Perhaps you read the recipe for dinner tonight or read to a sibling or pet. Just make sure you are actively reading throughout your day.

2) Log in to your IXL account and spend at least 30 minutes practicing 5th grade reading and at least 30 minutes practicing 5th grade math. We have starred lessons for you to complete first. If you finish those practice problems, the possibilities are endless. Just remember, you are a 5th grader and should be practicing 5th grade content during this time.

3) Enrich your knowledge and stay curious. Maybe you decide to create a Genius Hour/Passion Project during this time, brush up on your dancing skills or learn something new. It is up to you to make the most of this time by following the teacher-directed daily plan while also expanding your knowledge through independent study.
